Production Technology

The business area sells production equipment, consumable materials, and support and training services to the electronics 
manufacturing industry. Operations are conducted by the companies in the Scanditron Group, one of Northern Europe's leading distributors of machinery and materials for electronics production. Scanditron also has a market-leading position as
a manufacturer and supplier of laser-cut stencils for PCB assembly production.

Markets and customers
Through Scanditron the business area has sales offices and stencil manufacturing in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Estonia and Poland. Customers are found in a wide range of industrial segments and include both OEM and contract manufacturers.

In order to fend off competition from Asia, European electronics manufacturers must continuously refine their production processes, which means increased demands on equipment performance and flexibility. As equipment becomes more complex, there is also a greater need for skilled services within support and training.

Acquisition of Cyncrona
On 30 April 2010, ElektronikGruppen published its intention
to acquire the operations in OEM International's production equipment division. The operations are conducted within the Cyncrona Group with an annual turnover of around SEK 60 M. The acquired units will be integrated into the Production Technology business area and the transfer of ownership is expected to be fulfilled on 1 June 2010.
